UK Sales Charts August 2023: PS5 Slingshots GTA 5 Ranks Second Place
The well-known video game Grand Theft Auto V continues to hold its place as one of the best-selling titles of all time. Since its release about ten years ago, nearly 180 million copies have been sold globally, and recently it was even currently ranked second on the UK sales list.
The release of the PlayStation 5 version is partly responsible for the game’s recent spike in popularity. About two-thirds of the units of this game’s upgraded edition have been sold. Grand Theft Auto V reclaiming the top spot on the chart is impressive even though the physical sales figures for the UK may not appear noteworthy in the larger scheme of things.
The ranking of other well-known titles was impacted by Grand Theft Auto V’s ascent. FIFA 23, which had previously occupied the second position, dropped to third. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, on the other hand, moved up the rankings, rising from ninth to sixth. Hogwarts Legacy fell a few spots to number nine, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 climbed back into the top 10.

Grand Theft Auto V’s continued appeal and dominant position in the sales chart demonstrate the game’s persistent demand. Grand Theft Auto V clearly continues to be a hugely gripping and popular game within the gaming business as fans eagerly await the introduction of new titles.
