In a shocking turn of events, the highly anticipated video game Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has fallen victim to hacking yet again. This time through an unlikely device – the Amazon Fire Stick. The incident has led to significant concerns about cybersecurity in the gaming industry and has put an 18-year-old in serious legal trouble.

According to reports, the notorious mega-leak from GTA 6 was carried out on September 18, 2022, using an Amazon Fire Stick. According to a story from BBC News, the now-18-year-old Arion Kurtaj possessed the gadget along with his hotel TV, a phone, a keyboard, and a mouse. This article covers the most recent facts regarding the case, even though the story’s specifics are still recent. For those who are unaware, there were numerous videos of GTA 6 gameplay released in the mega-leak on September 18, 2022. Although the information in those films differed, it’s vital to remember that because of this leak, gamers were able to watch game footage for the first time.

Identity of the GTA 6 hacker:

18-year-old Arion Kurtaj was a member of the hacker collective Lapsus. Lapsus has hacked Uber, NVIDIA, and Rockstar Games in the past.

Trial information: Psychiatrists determined that Arion Kurtaj was autistic and that he was not fit to stand trial. The jury was only permitted to notice that he was accountable for the hacking; they were not permitted to establish if he had criminal intent. A 17-year-old was also found guilty, but his name cannot be released because of UK regulations related to his juvenile status. There were three separate hacker sprees. In the first, BT and EE were held hostage for $4 million. Concerning the second, NVIDIA Finally, Arion Kurtaj provided information about Rockstar Games’ GTA 6.

Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage was made available by Kurtaj

Kurtaj has been detained multiple times over the past two years, but he has persisted in carrying out cyberattacks on several businesses utilizing social engineering and SIM-swapping methods. In a hotel in Oxfordshire, Kurtaj was “caught red-handed” following a second arrest in March 2022. He was forbidden from using the internet, and as a condition of his release, the authorities kept a careful eye on him. However, it was insufficient to stop him from carrying out more hacks.

Prosecutors, according to the BBC, claim that he carried an Amazon Fire Stick that enables him to access cloud computing services using a recently purchased smartphone, keyboard, and mouse. After threatening the game’s creators, Rockstar Games, Kurtaj uploaded videos showing off the gameplay of the unreleased Grand Theft Auto VI. While the 17-year-old accused person is still free on bail, Kurtaj is being held in detention.
