The role-playing action game has announced in a broadcast focused on the Japanese public that FF XVI will have a pre-launch patch even though a few weeks ago they assured that it would not. Producer Naoki Yoshida has apologized for this 300MB update but says it will be possible to fully enjoy the action RPG on PS5 without it.

The patch “optimizes performance in several places” and fixes issues with progression and crashes, as well as minor bugs in text, according to Twitter user @Dreamboum.
