Call of Duty Warzone Caldera shutdown date: All You Need To Know

1 years ago By AI Smith

Although it was Fortnite that started the wave of interest almost exacerbated by the battle royale, others wanted to steal a piece of the cake. The classic Call of Duty: Warzone, that of 2019, was one of them even though it hit the market 2 years after its competition. Now, and with Warzone 2.0 on the market, Activision is going to close its first part forever this year.

We were all surprised by Activision’s idea of dividing its community with two free deliveries, yes, but separate from its battle royale. Although it did not fragment its community, the fact of keeping Warzone Caldera active, the last update of the original game and which will continue to be alive until September 21, meant certain resources were invested “for nothing” by Raven Software.

Activision’s decision, dated for the ninth month of this year, will take the workload off the American team, who will focus solely and exclusively on new content for its sequel instead of doing the same and maintaining the Warzone Caldera servers. But does this have any impact on Call of Duty Warzone 2.0? Not at all.

The goodbye to Warzone Caldera will not affect the current Warzone 2.0, nor its inventory or progression. Both games have had a different trajectory and the only one that has received weighty content is its sequel. One that, in addition, received with its Season 4 a new map called Vondel.

The problem, as such, does not exist beyond losing the original map and experience forever. However, both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep from the first Warzone have already disappeared, and the progress of this first part went to its sequel, so the goodbye directly attacks our memories in it more than the content.
