A Gripping Campaign

In the gripping campaign of the Black Ops Cold War, players can take on the role of a unique character with the codename “Bell.” Players can freely select their intelligence service, skin tone, nationality, gender, as well as several personality attributes to acquire advantages in-game. 

For the first time since Black Ops II, the campaign offers multiple endings based on player choices throughout the narrative. Immerse yourself in a world where you’ll come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths as you battle across iconic locations like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, and the Soviet KGB headquarters.

The Next Zombies Chapter

Embark on a bold and terrifying journey in the next chapter of the Zombies mode. This cooperative mode expands on an iconic part of the Call of Duty franchise, offering new ways to progress, classic Perks, and a wide array of Cold War-era Zombies weaponry to aid survivors in their fight against the undead. 

The Zombies storyline, titled “Dark Aether,” expands on the original Aether story from Black Ops 4 while staying true to the main campaign narrative. As a member of the “Requiem” CIA response team, players can assume the role of Operator characters from the Multiplayer mode. Players can use any weapon, Gunsmith, scorestreaks, field improvements, and cherished mechanisms like wall buys, the Mystery Box, Pack-a-Punch, and fan-favourite Perks thanks to the progression from multiplayer over to zombies.

Next-Generation Multiplayer

Black Ops Cold War brings the classic Black Ops multiplayer experience to the next level. With a fresh take on gunsmith, new and fan-favourite scorestreaks, exciting maps, diverse game modes, and a roster of new characters to play multiplayer enthusiasts will find themselves fully immersed in thrilling and intense battles.

Plot, Characters, and Settings

Set during the early 1980s Cold War, the campaign follows Russell Adler, a Green Beret turned CIA SAD/SOG officer, on his mission to stop an international espionage threat known as Perseus. The campaign takes players to a variety of places, including East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, and the Soviet KGB headquarters, many of which were inspired by real-life events.

Alongside Adler, players will encounter familiar Black Ops characters such as Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson, as well as new operatives like Lawrence Sims, Eleazar “Lazar” Azoulay, and Helen Park. The story also features a cast of intriguing adversaries, including Perseus’ inner circle, Iranian terrorists, a Russian mafia boss, and a rogue KGB agent.
