We want to be clear that we have no BGMI teams, either official or unofficial, and that we are not familiar with the team competing in BGIS Round 4. There are rumours that their player, noCleo, is using in-game cheats, but we do not own that squad and have not signed any contracts with them or their players.
We do not support any type of hacking, and we are baffled as to why they are sullying our brand by utilising our official nickname, the message continued. This team must get in touch with us immediately, otherwise we will impose strict measures. We kindly request that our official NightOwl family and fans share this article and tag Krafton and BGMI,” the post read.
In response to the allegations made by NightOwl Esports, the Night Owls team acknowledged that their team name and logo were both decisions they made on their own and that they had found them online. They also stated that discussions with Krafton to alter their team name and logo were already under way as a result of the incident. Night Owls then momentarily altered their emblem in an effort to quell the heated debate.
When Day 2 of Round 4 begins on September 22, Night Owls will be the main topic of discussion.
