Music animes are the type of series that motivates us for different reasons. Whether it’s a soundtrack that touches us inside or its emotional scenes. We love seeing the characters deal with the difficulties of their lives as artists. Certainly, the plot is calmer than action anime like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and even other sports or cooking anime.

But although drama stories can be found everywhere, the ones on this list will be more artistic and the problems of someone who thinks about music wherever they go.

Carole & Tuesday (2019)

A music anime from another planet, literally. 50 years after the migration to the planet Mars, a place where all entertainment is provided by Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our protagonist Carole is a young part-time worker with the dream of succeeding in music, but there are days when it seems impossible. All this changes when he meets Tuesday, a girl from a wealthy family to make a living from music. Together they will help each other to discover her true goals in life and put a unique movement.

Kids on the Slope (2012)

In this music Anime, we will see Nishimi Kaoru, a young man who spent his childhood changing from school to school. Trying to integrate into a new institute, he becomes more and more friends with the class representative Mukae Ritsuko and with a particular boy, Kawabuchi Sentaro.

The second is known to be a troublesome student in all aspects. But among all their problems, these three characters will find fundamental peace in jazz.

Nodame Cantabile (2007)

We will see a true genius in this music anime, Shinichi Chiaki. Chiaki is one of the most outstanding piano students at the conservatory. His goal is to become like his teacher, Sebastiano Viera, and one day become a conductor.

After a fight with his piano teacher, he is disciplined and sent to classrooms where no one pays attention to the students. There he meets Megumi Noda, a piano player with whom he begins to get along. From here, Chiaki’s relationship with the conservatory and with Noda in particular will evolve.

Given (2019)

In music anime, the main character usually has some experience or enthusiasm for music. In this case, Ritsuka Uenoyama is a guitar fan who, after a lot of practice, achieved a level with which he feels satisfied. Unfortunately, after practising for a long time, he no longer feels attracted to his instrument and decides to put it aside. But this changed when he meets Mafuyu Sato, a boy who plays the guitar with all the strength of his soul and asks Uenoyama to teach him how to play well. This meeting will enhance their love of music.

Your Lie in April (2014)

This music anime centres on a shy protagonist, a real piano prodigy, but with one flaw: he can no longer play properly. His name is Kousei Arima, a student who due to childhood trauma is unable to hear piano notes when playing. One day he meets a somewhat awkward way with a young and outgoing violinist named Kaori Miyazono. Arima, full of doubts and pressure, finds in this girl a sense of freedom that captivates him.

Beck (1999)

Many performers can see themselves in this music anime because it is the beginning of a boy who doesn’t have inspiration in his life.

But this changes after his first encounter with music when he rescues a dog and takes it to its owner, a skilled guitarist. Little by little we are introduced to Koyuki’s approach to the musical world, and the pieces of her life begin to take a new shape exploring friendship, talent, and most of all, music.
