5 Best Players In The League Of Legends Worlds 2023 So Far

1 years ago By AI Smith

Following the conclusion of the semifinals, T1 and Weibo Gaming emerged as the final two competitors, and they will all be competing in the League of Legends Worlds 2023 finals. Throughout the tournament, both teams have shown themselves and displayed exceptional gameplay to earn a berth in the finals.

There will be a lot of buzz and a lot of storylines leading up to the Grand Finals of the most well-known and watched League of Legends (LoL) esports competition. But thanks to gifted and elite players from the world’s top teams, the event has already produced some amazing moments.

Ahead of the Grand Finals, let us recap and take a look at some of the best plays at League of Legends Worlds 2023.

Faker’s Azir, Oner’s Rell, and three more impressive plays at League of Legends Worlds 2023 so far

1) Faker

In T1’s 3-1 victory over the LPL titans, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok had an amazing set versus JD Gaming. Faker’s Azir throughout the series was a standout performance, but all five players had incredible moments as the Koreans were able to stop the Golden Road, just as he had predicted. One of the most amazing plays League of Legends has ever seen may have been his game-winning move in the third game of the series.

JD Gaming was poised to launch a massive Baron powerplay. All of this was quickly disregarded, though, as Faker dove into the opposing sidelines, anticipated Ruler’s Flash, and executed a fantastic Azir ultimate to eliminate the Varus right away. T1 swiftly moved in the opposite direction, pushing through the middle lane.

Faker was able to exact his personal revenge, making this play even more legendary given the history between the two players and the fact that Ruler’s Varus made the championship-winning move six years prior at the League of Legends Worlds 2017 finals by locking up Faker.

2) Knight and Ruler

Although JD Gaming was not able to finish the Golden Road, the League of Legends premier league played an incredible game throughout, with each player having their own shining moment. But in the team’s quarterfinal series against KT Rolster, Zhuo “Knight” Ding and Ruler demonstrated their dynamic partnership in a huge way.

Ruler and Knight stopped KT Rolster’s effort to take on the Baron. The former executed a flawless Orianna ultimate, allowing the latter to win the match with his trademark Kai’Sa pick. The two skillfully played around KT’s lack of vision and single-handedly altered the game’s outcome, which is why this move was so remarkable.

3) Gumayusi

Over time, “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong has established himself as one of the world’s top ADCs. Thus far at League of Legends Worlds 2023, he has played a significant role in T1’s achievements. His unconventional choices have paid off for T1, especially when combined with his ultra-aggressive early games and flawless team fighting.

During the series finale between JD Gaming and T1, there was one play in particular. During a pivotal team battle near the dragon, Gumayusi, using his Varus pick, successfully held his ground and defeated Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and Bai “369” Jia-Hao of JD Gaming 1v1.

As T1 won the series and advanced to the Grand Finals, the ADC for Team T1 was able to avoid practically every empowered Zeri Q that Ruler unleashed, completely overwhelming the JDG team.

4. Oner

With so many doubts going into League of Legends Worlds 2023, T1’s jungler Moon “Oner” Hyeon-jun faced a lot of criticism for his subpar performances in the Summer Split. But Oner has really improved throughout the competition, playing outstanding performances against champions like Rell, Sejuani, and Jarvan IV.

In Game 3 of the semifinal showdown against JD Gaming, the Korean jungler produced the most visually striking move. At a critical juncture in the game, Oner outran his teammates and took the lead before they could follow through with an Ashe ultimate from Lou “MISSING” Yun-Feng and a flawless Rell ultimate to catch the carriers of JD Gaming.

5. Zika

LNG Esports’ top laner Tang “Zika” Hua-Yu had an unforgettable play versus KT Rolster during the Swiss Stage, despite the team’s unceremoniously abrupt elimination from League of Legends Worlds 2023. Three members of KT Rolster attempted to kill Zika, but he survived with a slight degree of health while wearing his trademark Jax pick.

This was a really thrilling play to watch because of the amazing ward hops along with the amazing dodge on Kim “Aiming” Ha-Ram’s Jinx W. LNG went on to win the series 2-1, and Zika was a major factor in their triumphs.

An ongoing esports competition for the multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends is called the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. The game’s developer, Riot Games, hosts the League of Legends World Championship, an annual international competition, in its thirteenth year. October 10 was the start of the event, which will continue through November 19 in South Korea. Based on their performance in regional circuits, twenty-two teams from nine regions qualified for the tournament; however, defending champions DRX were not among them after losing to Dplus KIA in the 2023 LCK Regional Finals. JD Gaming lost to T1 in the elimination stage semifinals, missing out on the opportunity to become the first team to finish the “Golden Road”.

The theme song for the tournament was revealed to be NewJeans’ “Gods” (stylized in all caps). “Heartsteel” (all caps) is the name of the virtual boyband that Riot Games revealed during the event. Baekhyun from Exo and SuperM, ØZI, Tobi Lou, and Cal Scruby represented the group as its human counterparts in a live performance of their first song, “Paranoia.”

Weibo Gaming and T1 will face off for the Summoner’s Cup in the final, which is scheduled to take place in the Gocheok Sky Dome on November 19, 2023. Since both teams are equally deserving and competitive, it will be interesting to see who claims the League of Legends World 2023 trophy.
